Water Network Resilience Plan

I've worked with water experts to produce and cost a water resilience plan to upgrade and replace outdated infrastructure at the Pembury Water Treatment Works - the cause of recent water outages in Tunbridge Wells, Pembury and our villages. I've taken this plan to South East Water, their investors and the regulators and have forced greater investment in the treatment works and local water network.

Business Compensation

I have secured £1.2 million in additional compensation from South East Water for local businesses which suffered significant losses as a result of the December 2025 water outage.

Accountability

I forced the resignations of both the CEO & Chair of South East Water who oversaw multiple water outages in Tunbridge Wells in 2025 and 2026. I also secured a first-of-its-kind investigation into South East Water's licence to operate by the Secretary of State after inviting her down to witness the water outages in Tunbridge Wells first-hand.

Sewage

I forced Southern Water to take remedial action to stop sewage from entering the River Grom. Southern Water are now upgrading its network in South Tunbridge Wells to reduce surface water from entering the system which will reduce sewage spills. The water company has also increased capacity at Tunbridge Wells South Wastewater Treatment Works by 23% to accommodate housing growth.
