Paddock Wood

I'm working with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Paddock Wood Town Council, Kent County Council and Network Rail to give Paddock Wood the infrastructure it needs as the town grows.

Upgrading the Sewage Network

I've been working with Southern Water to make sure that Paddock Wood's sewage network is upgraded before new houses are completed. They are now increasing capacity at Paddock Wood Treatment Works by 4,000 extra homes worth. They're also working with local Lib Dem councillors to reduce surface water entering the sewage network.

Expanding Sports Provision

I've brought together local sports clubs, Padddock Wood Town Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to agree on a plan to expand sports provision in the town with brand new facilities. Over the next decade £17 million will be invested in sports provision in Paddock Wood.

Investing in the Town Centre

I'm working with the Town Council and Borough Council to improve the street scene on Commercial Road, crack down on illegal parking and make the town centre the best it can be so that local businesses can thrive. I've asked Network Rail and the Borough Council to develop a plan to reimagine the space around Paddock Wood Station so that it better serves residents and visitors.

Improving Access to GP Services

I'm working with the NHS, the Borough Council and housing developers to expand GP provision in Paddock Wood. The Lib Dems are also calling on Kent County Council to use more developer levies to fund local GP services, including the Woodlands Health Centre.

New Youth Hubs

The Lib Dem Borough Council has opened a new youth hub in Paddock Wood so young people have more to do. It’s now open every Friday during term-time for young people to drop in.

Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour

I've brought together the local school head, Kent Police and Southeastern Rail to tackle antisocial behaviour and shoplifting in Paddock Wood.

Mobile Signal and Broadband

I forced Persimmon Homes to end their monopoly over internet broadband in Mascalls Grange Estate and open their network up to other providers to improve quality. I've also secured commitment from Vodafone and Three to improve their mobile signal in Paddock Wood.
