Standing up to Water Companies

For many years, there have been issues with water supply in our area, mostly caused by underinvestment. 

Since being elected, I have been meeting with local water suppliers to discuss the lack of investment in our water network, as well as raising wider concerns about the sector in Parliament. 

I will continue to call for better regulation of water companies including the replacement of OFWAT, the water regulator, with a body that has stronger powers. 

Our water companies must deliver on their obligations to provide a reliable supply of safe and clean water.
